How it started.

The founders of Gold Coast WebWiz goes back a long way. All with a Sales and Marketing background, and with a keen interested in the transformative impacts of the internet on small businesses and were early students of web2.0 concepts. The discussions and early work were on-going for many ears before the purpose and goals of a dedicated On Line Marketing Service evolved. Not until Early 2003 was the structure, foundation and funding of Gold Coast WebWiz finally and officially established.

Intrigued by the rapid change and opportunities.

The most interesting aspect of the internet's impact on business from Gold Coast WebWiz's perspective is in how it has changed the nature of shopping and subsequently the shape of every vendor's sales approach. Ten or Twelve years ago, if a company was interested in buying a new product/service, it started by attending trade shows, reading industry journals, and going to seminars to learn more. Early in the shopping process, it would engage directly with the key vendors' (sales) people who would feed them biased information from the top of their sales strategies.

Today, that same process looks very different. The potential customer starts On Line by searching on relevant keywords. The prospect would spend time on each vendor's site, subscribe to the most interesting vendor blogs, subscribe to the vendor's customers' blogs, join an industry discussion forum, etc. Relatively late in the prospect's decision cycle, it would engage the vendor's (sales) people directly. Prospects making decisions totally unbeknown to the vendor, and without the opportunity of the vendor to verbally influence the decision making process.

The first vendor conversation today is much different from the one a decade ago because the prospect often knows as much about the vendor's product as the sales rep does and the prospect is already much more "qualified."
It used to be that the size of your firm's sales force was the key to finding the most new customers, but that is not necessarily always the case today. The good news for small businesses is that on the internet, no one can tell if you are a one person sole proprietorship or a 1000 person consultancy.

It turns out that small businesses (and startups) can cut into the market – and at great success – on relatively niche-y products that they normally sell to companies in their close customer list and “neighborhood”. The internet disproportionately favors small businesses since it enables them to position their niche goods to people shopping for that particular niche good regardless (almost) of Marketing Staff / Budget – and Geographical boundaries.

What can we do for you?

Gold Coast WebWiz's vision is to provide marketing application and provide great advice to small businesses enabling them to leverage these disruptive effects of the internet to "get found" by more prospects shopping in their niche and to convert a higher percentage of prospects into customers.
Most small business management haven’t grasped the interactivity aspect of the internet, they have websites that behaves like their old paper-based brochures, “just sitting online” quite often very outdated. Rarely, if ever, updated, therefore not given significant visibility by the search engines, has low traffic levels, has no visitor registration options, does not encourage return visits, does not enable/track conversions, etc. What Gold Coast WebWiz does is transform that relatively static website into a modern marketing machine that produces the right leads and helps convert a higher percentage of them into qualified opportunities.

Wikipedia Definition:

Web 2.0 describes the changing trends in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aim to enhance creativity, communications, secure information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the web. Web 2.0 concepts have led to the development and evolution of web culture communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, video sharing sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies. The term became notable after the first O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004.[1][2] Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but rather to changes in the ways software developers and end-users utilize the Web.

According to Tim O'Reilly:
“ Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as a platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.[3]
